In the Name of God Amen
The fourth day of August in the years of our Lord God one thousand Six
Hundred Sixty one I Edward Mylam of Wokingham in the countie of Berkshire
Blacksmith being sick and weak in bodie, butt of good and perfect memory blessed
be God therefore Doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner
and forme following following that is to say I doe willingly give and bequeath
my soule into the hands of Almighty God with supreme confidence that He will
receive the same to _______ and through merritts and satisfaction of our Lord
Jesus Christ and my bodie to the earth to be thereunto buried according to the
customs of our nation of England by the discretion of my Executor and other
christian friends Item I give and bequeath unto Edward Mylam my sonne all that
my dwelling house in Wokingham aforesaid with all messuages tenements shopp? And
harnessing and all Barnes ediffices and buildings thereunto belonging with all
orchards gardens backside and all other appurtanances thereto belonging, To have
and to hold all and every the afore named premises with the appurtenances from
and after the decease of Anne my now wife To him my said son Edward Mylam his
heirs and assignes for ever Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Mylam Twentie
pounds of lawfull money to be paid her att the tyme that her brother Edward
Mylam shall accomplish the full age one and twentie yeares to bee paid unto her
att that tyme beying wife Anne Mylam or her assignes of shee bee then living but
if my said wife should dye and depart this life before the tyme aforesaid that
then my will is that within one year after my son cometh to the age aforesaid he
shall pay unto his said sister Elizabeth the said sume of twentie pounds of
lawfull money, if shee bee then Living Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Mylam
my daughter all that my houses in Wokingham aforesaid wherein James Stafford?
and Simon? Maynard diviseth with all and every the outhouses ediffices and
buildings with all orchards and gardens and backsides thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining To have and to hold all and everie the aforenamed
premisses with their appurtenances unto the said Anne Mylam my daughter to the
onely use of her and her assignes for ever within two yeares next after my
decease, with condition that the said Anne Mylam shall pay unto her sister
Elizabeth Mylam the summe of twentie pounds lawfull money within two yeares next
after my decease daughter Anne shall come to bee possessed of the sume, if the
said Elizabeth be then living and if my said daughter shuld happen to dye and
depart this life without issue of her bodie lawfully begotten, that then my will
is that my said daughter Elizabeth shall have the here before given howse with
the appurtanances to her and her assignes forever and in bonefides _______
thereof my will is that she acquitt and dismis? And so discharge her mother or
her brother of and from the payment of the first twentie pounds herein before
given Item I give and bequeath unto Samuall Mylam my kinsman, and to Damanis?
Sharpe? My wives kinswoman to either of them tenne shillings apiece) I doe
hereby nominate and appoint my loveing brother in law Thomas Fuller and my
loveing neighbor Richard? Sanborne to be my overseers and for their paines they
shall take therein I give to either of them five shillings apiece All the rest
of goods and household ________ I wholly give and bequeath to Anne my now
loveing wife whom I doe make my full and sole Executrix of this my last will and
testament In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this day and
