In the Name of God, amen, The Thirteenth Day of Augt. in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and Thirty, & Joseph Maylem of Boston, in the County of Suffolk,
in the Province of the Massachusets Bay in New England Bricklayer Being at the
present in health of Body, and in perfect mind & memory, Thanks be Given to God for
the Same. Yet calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing it is appointed for all
men once to Dye, Do make and ordain, this my Last Will and Testament; (That is to say)
Principally and first of all I Give & Recommend my soul in to the hands of God that
Gave it, when soever he shall in his Holy & Soveraigne Will, and Pleasure see meet to
Call for it Hoping through the merits, and mediation of my Lord Saviour Jesus Christ to
obtain the full and free Pardon and Forgiveness of all my Sins and from whence it came to
be Buried in rich Decent Christian manner as my Executirs in their Discretion shall think
meet, Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurection I shall Receive the same again by
Ure mightly Power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God
in the Life to Bless me (my Just Debts whether of Duty or Conscience and Funeral, Changes
being first well vituelly Satisfied Contented and Paid) I Give Domise and Dispose of in
the following manner and form..
Imp I Give & bequeath unto Kenia, my dealy &
well beloved Wife the one Third Part of the proper Income of my Real
Estate in Boston, to be & Remain unto her during the whole Term & Time.
.................. and no longer I also Give unto mysaid Wife the one full Third Part of
all & singular my moveable or Personal Estate, whatever of the Household Goods, money,
Rings, Jewells, Gold, Silver, Plate, Coined or Uncoined, which I may Dye of (Excepting
& Reserving such Parts thereof as I Do in particular here in named Give and Devise to
be by her freely Possessed & Enjoyed forever.
Item I Give unto my son Joseph Maylem if he be alive and Ever Return to his Native Land the Sum of five Shillings and no more. for this reason & upon the Consideration that he hath in the main Series of his past Life been intirely undutifull & Disobedient to me and no way Comformable or ardhering to the Instructions & admanitions I have from time to time, Given him for his Good.
Item. I Give unto my son Mark Maylem a Certain Lott of land number forty five which I Purchased of William Creesce. lying & being in Fish Street. within the Township of Nottingham in the Povince of New Hampshire with the Buildings & Improvement thereas containing about Ten acres, value all the after Divisions of Land & Rights thereto or may in any wife be belonging or appertaining unto the said Lott of Land throughout the said Township to him his heirs or assigns forever. also I Give unto him my son Mark Maylum my Gun one Silver Tankard of about _ meassure of one Quart and now in my Possession all my own wearing apparell both of Linnen & Woollen; and all my Buttons $ Buckles both of Gold and Possesed & Enjoyed for ever.
Item I Give also unto my son Mark Maylum the Wstermost part of my Double House with the Land thereto belonging which I have now lying & being on School Street within the Township of Boston aforsaid att the present in the Tenure & Occupation of Mr.Thomas Cushing Together with the free & full Privledge of and regress of in to and through the arch or Passageway parting the Tenement from my now dwelling House with Liberty of the Pump & yard Room at all times forever., also I Give unto my son Mark Maylem all that piece of Land which I have in School Street.. Bounded Easterly on the French Meeting House in Street and Westerly on the Land of Richard Hall. late of Boston Baker Died with all singular the Stables, Barnes and other Edifices on the farm standing and being and my Will It meaning is that this my Devise of Housing & Lanes be and Remain unto my Son Mark Maylem and his Heirs Lawfully Begotton of his or their Bodies unto the Third Generation.
Item I Give unto my Son John Maylem a certain lott of Land containing about Ten acres number Seventeen in Bowstreet within the Township of Nottingham aforesaid with the Buildings and Improvements thereon and also all the after Divissions of the Land and Rights thereto, or may in any wife be Belonging or appertaining unto the said Lott of Land through out said Township. To him his Heirs or assigns forever I also Give unto my son John Maylem one Silver Tankard of about the measure of one Quart marked I. K. M. annd now in my Possession and also my great Chest having a Dantrick Lock on it., To be by him freely Possessed $ Ejoyed for Ever. I also Give unto my said son John Maylum the Esternmost part of my said Double House with the Land thereto belonging with the like Priviledges of the arch or Passage way Pump & Yard Room aforsaid to his Part, as I before Granted my son Mark, to his Part; as also that piece of Land I lately Purchased of Mr. Peter Luce Bounded Westerly on my own Land which I had before and Easterly on the Land of Capt Nicholas Davis and my Will & meaning is that this is my Devise of House & Lands in both. the Parts of it be and Remain unto my said son John Maylem and his Heirs Lawfully begotton of his of their Bodies unto the Third Generation
Item I Give unto the Rev Mr. Joseph Sewall & Mr. Thomas Prince the present them in Publick Bills of Credit in Convenient Time after my Deceassed by my Executors hereafter named, I also Give unto the Poor of the said Church the Sum of Twenty Pounds in Povince Bills of Credit to be also paid out of my Estate in Convenient Time after by Decesse. by my said Executors, unto th of their Discretion of the Ends Intended.
Finally my will & meaning is that the other two Thirds
of my Personal Estate, above mentioned and also what is--- to me (or maybe) by Book Debts,
Bills, Bonds, Notes of Hand, or any other, Instrument in Writing whatsoever be Equally
Divided & shared in two Equal Parts between my said two sons Mark Maylem & John
Maylem whom I also Nominate & appoint Sole & Joint Executors of this my Last
Will & Testament and I herby Disallow Revoke & Disanull in any ways before named
Willed & Bequeathed Ratifying & Confirming this and no other to be my Last Wiil

Province of the Massasachissts Bay in New England Widow being sick and weak of Body
but of sound Disprsing Mind & memory & considering the certainty of this Life Do
make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament Herby Revolking and making null & void
all former and other Wills by me at any Time hencefor made First and Principally I Commit
my precious & Immortal Soul into the hands of God my Creator relying Solely on his
Mercy thro the merits & satisfaction of my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ of the
Pardon of my SIns & Gracious acceptance with him my body I Commit to the Earth to be
